Checked out a trilogy of country, down at the North Star pub on Sunday. Slide peddles coming Michael Messer and Ed Genis, whilst ">Adrian Glynn dabbled with some more folky-folk stuff. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
I spent the weekend in Berlin. I was staying in the old East Berlin district, Prenzlauer Berg. This was about a 20 min walk to the Alexanderplatz, where the Ferneshtrum/television tower is. If you’ve seen the film Goodbye Lenin then you’ll be familiar with the tower from there. The weather on Saturday was a thick blanket of grey and drizzle. So, walking around and doing the tourist thing; visiting parts of the Berlin Wall and so forth gave the place an added oppressive atmosphere... Luckily, the Sunday was sunny and pretty much T-shirt weather, making it quite an interesting juxtaposition.
Call of Duty Black Ops, launch party. I’m rubbish with video/computer games, so I tend to avoid playing them. Also, I could quite easily see myself getting in to them thus killing all my free time. Still, it was pretty cool to have a snoop around Battersea Power Station. I once took some pictures of from the outside for a photography A-Level project. If I recall it was quite hard to get a good angle of the place. My car hit a pothole whilst I was there too, this then lead to me being towed home. I bet Storm Thorgerson and Pink Floyd didn’t get that problem when they shot their Animals cover.
